Squirrel SelfServe provides an off-the-shelf solution for supplier compliance and accreditation using on-line questionnaires with workflow providing assessment and further back-office functions. Using the fully-featured, rule-driven questionnaire development software, non-technical users are able to create on-line questionnaires with a minimum of technical support. Many types of question can be created including text entry, multiple choice, array list, radio button and sliding bar. Assessment criteria can be built into the questionnaire and calculated dynamically to provide a risk scorecard for use in the workflow. The compliance questionnaires are accessible to the supplier once they have registered via the portal. Access is by web browser on any device and questionnaires are responsive to the type of device so they can easily be completed using a mobile device, PC or Mac. At any time whilst populating the questionnaire the supplier can save the form and pause ready to resume later. Other information can be communicated to the supplier via the same portal, either by web content or links to documents or 3rd party web content.

Back-office staff also login via the portal to perform the back-office tasking, this is assisted by the workflow component to provide a fully or semi-automated assessment of the compliance questionnaire or to fulfil other functions. The workflow is fully configurable via graphical editor and can include decision points based on the risk scorecard or involve manual assessment steps. The workflow has access to all of the information captured in the questionnaire plus additional information can be accessed from other systems if available to the workflow via database connectivity. Manual assessment can be via further online forms or assessment questionnaires where the assessor is required to be led through the assessment process. The manual assessments and decisions are stored to provide full audit trail where required. Linking Squirrel SelfServe to other systems can be performed either via the built-in XML data extracts, directly from the underlying MySQL tables, or via bespoke PHP connectors. Compliance reporting is facilitated online using dashboards but can also be via email or paper-based reports generated using the report generator.
